PDF booklet maker

Arrange reading-order PDF pages into a left-bound booklet. Preview each sheet and download a vector-preserving print PDF.

Make your next fold predictable.

Choose a file to begin, or try the included local sample. Your files stay in this tab.

How to use it

  1. Import a reading-order PDF, with its cover as page 1.
  2. Choose A4 or Letter landscape and set a margin for each half-page.
  3. Inspect each sheet front and back. Missing pages are padded with blanks to reach a multiple of four.
  4. Download the already-imposed PDF. Print one duplex sheet at 100% with short-edge flipping, then fold and check it.

Questions, answered

Does this preserve text and vectors?

Yes. Source PDF page content is embedded into PDF half-pages. Only the on-screen preview is rasterized; the downloaded PDF is not made from screenshots.

Why are blank pages added?

A folded sheet has four booklet pages. A five-page PDF therefore needs eight page positions, including three blanks.

How do I avoid upside-down backs?

For landscape sheets use duplex short-edge flipping. If your printer only flips on the long edge, try Rotate back sides 180° and test one sheet. Printer behavior varies, so a real folded test remains essential.

Which PDFs are unsupported?

Password-protected PDFs, interactive form fields, unreadable files, files over 20 MB and more than 128 pages are rejected. Flatten forms first. Annotations, comments, embedded media and links are not reproduced as interactive objects. This is a single-signature booklet tool, not commercial creep or multi-signature imposition.

Understand one folded sheet

Reading order is not print order

An eight-page source begins with pages 8 and 1 on the first front, then 2 and 7 on its back. The inner sheet carries 6 and 3, then 4 and 5. Page labels beside the real previews expose that order.

Avoid double imposition

The output already places two booklet pages on each landscape side. Printing it with a second Booklet or Multiple Pages setting rearranges or shrinks it again. Use ordinary duplex printing and verify a physical fold.
